What type of earrings WONT make your ears get infected?

i am going to get my ears pierced soon and i am kinda thinking about not getting them pierced because most of my friends ears have got infected by the earrings. and i was wondering if it is just the type of earrings that makes their ear get infected. please let me know what i can do about this and if there is a type of earring that wont make your ears get infected. thanks bye
