Stop worrying. It's not about how much you spend; it's about how much he likes it - or, at least, that's what it's about if he's in the relationship because he likes you and not because he wants extra loot. If the price imbalance really bothers you, then tell him before the next gift-giving occasion it doesn't make you happy to know he's spending so much when you can't reciprocate, and give him some suggestions for more reasonably priced gifts.
